How Could I Ask for More

What a week of celebrations. Rob and I have so much to be thankful for.

Monday was Rob's big 30th birthday. What a young whipper snapper. I "tried" to make his favorite-Grandpa's Chocolate Chip Cake- but it just wasn't the same I'm afraid. We stopped for a moment and thanked God for his Grandpa and all the good memories Rob has of him. Rob wanted to go out for Thai food on his birthday but the closest Thai food around is 6 hours from here. :( We decided to drive to Bismark and enjoy a nice theater and restaurant. It was a nice, little get away.

Wednesday night we attended a Thanksgiving service at church. I was overwhelmed with the thought of how much I have to be thankful for. There was a time during the service where people could get up and share testimonies of thanks. There was one sharing that really altered my thinking. A man in the church said he was thankful for "waiting". WOW!!! Rob and I are in the middle of a huge WAITING right now and we haven't been all that thankful. The man went on to explain that when he's waiting he knows the Lord is working and he is not.

Yesterday was a fun filled comfortable day. Vince and Kirsten exercised hospitality by inviting us and about 8 other people over for a yummy, yummy meal. It was a great time of fellowship. It was hard not being able to be with my parents yesterday but I'm thankful that we could be with some of my family on my favorite holiday of the year. Oh, how could I ask for more?

No Tricks but What a Treat

What a treat it was for me to spend Halloween with my brother and his family. I'm having so much fun with Ezra(Elmo) and Asher(lobster boy). I had the privilege to tromp around in the snow and go door to door with the cuties. What a joy this time is for me.

A lot of firsts

Anyone that knows my brother knows his favorite holiday is Halloween. Vince and Kirsten have made it an anual tradition to have a pumpkin, carving bash and Rob and I were one of the lucky, invited couples. I think this pumpkin, carving experience was our first joint, effort project. I highly recommend this project to all couples. There were many lessons learned in carving a pumpkin together. I think the outcome was a sucess. It was a fun night had by all.
(Notice the snow surrounding Vince's and our pumpkin on the steps. WHAT??? Snow on Halloween? That's a first for me.)

Indescribable

Rob and I traveled to the mountains for our honeymoon. WOW!!!!! Talk about God's splendor. We rented a cabin for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. We woke up every morning to a breath taking view of the Smokies. Most of our days were spent in the small town of Gatlinburg. We did all of the tourist things.....hard rock cafe, I-max movies, sky view mountain ride but one day......... WOAH! Every day we would venture down the mountain from our cabin and take a left but the last day of our honey moon we decided to take a right and see what we could find. By pure accident we came upon color, beauty, GOD. Around every curve was another surprise or "OH, WOW". Rob and I were in total awe of God's creation. His finger prints were everywhere. As we were climbing the mountain Chris Tomlin's "Indescrible" was playing on the CD player. How perfect that moment was. What if we wouldn't have made that right hand turn? What else am I missing out on in this life God has granted me? I'm going to be taking more right hand turns.

"Indescribable"

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Incomparable, Unchangeable,
You see the depths of my heart and you love me the same.
You are amazing God

First Comes Love Then Comes......

What a fun day Rob and I had. We had loved ones and family come in from all over the world. I was blessed to see friends from every season of my life. We worshipped, laughed, cried, said hellos and then good byes. God made His Grand entrance and graced us with His presence. I don't think we could have asked for more. Live Laugh Love

Well, there it is. We've promised to live, laugh and love infront of the whole world. It's not so easy to live, laugh and love all the time. We're trying. We're learning that in order to live we have to be able to laugh at ourselves and each other. We're learning that in order to live we have to love each other. The whole live, laugh and love thing was just a theme we stole for our wedding day but we've decided it's a good theme to live by.

"For to me, to LIVE is Christ" Phil. 1:21
"For the time will come when you will LAUGH with joy" Luke 6:21
"Let all that you do be done in LOVE" 1 Cor. 16:14
